Terms And Conditions Apply

More often than not preachers addressing a crowd will use the collective ‘us’ or ‘our’ implying ‘all’ are on their way ‘to heaven’. Worst still, “God hates sin but loves sinners,” stressing the ‘loves sinners’. When asked on what authority they make that claim the answers are always the same, Joh 3:16, “For thus the God loved the world, that his Son, the only Begotten, He gave, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.”

The above is a typical example of an advertisement without the ‘terms and conditions’ tag. It should have read, 'For thus the God loved the world, that his Son, the only Begotten, He gave, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life, terms and conditions apply.'

There’s a great difference between God loved sinners and, God loves sinners. Ponder on 1Jo 4:9-, “By this was the God's love revealed in us, that the God has sent his Son, the only begotten, into the world that we might  live through Him.

He was lifted-up…

"In this is the love, not that we loved the God, but that He loved us, and sent the Son of Him as the atoning sacrifice concerning the sins of us. And, Mar 16:16, "The one believing and being baptized will be saved, but the one not believing will be condemned.”

Eph 1:3-, "Blessed the God even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! Through Christ, the God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing that heaven has to offer. Before the creation of a world, He chose us through Christ to be holy and perfect in his presence. Because of his love He had already decided to adopt us through Jesus Christ. He freely chose to do this so that the kindness He had given us in his dear Son would be praised and given glory.

"Through the blood of his Son, we are set free from our sins. God forgives our failures because of his overflowing kindness. He poured out his kindness by giving us every kind of wisdom and insight when He revealed the mystery of his plan to us. He had decided to do this through Christ.

"He planned to bring all of history to its goal in Christ. Then Christ would be the head of everything in heaven and on earth. The God also decided ahead of time to choose us through Christ according to his plan, which makes everything work the way He intends.

"He planned all of this so that we who had already focused our hope on Christ would praise him and give him glory.

"You heard and believed the message of truth, the Good News that He has saved you. In Him you were sealed with that Holy Spirit which He promised. That Holy Spirit is the guarantee that we will receive our inheritance.

The Rapture; when this mortal body shall put on immortality,

"We have this guarantee, until we are set free to belong to Him. God receives praise and glory for this."

Now, and this is so important, it is that holy Spirit that makes one spiritual as it is written, Rom 8:1-, "There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus. For the law, of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, made me free from the law of sin and of death.

"For, what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh [Heb 10:4-, 'For it is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. For this reason, coming into the world, He says, "Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but You prepared a body for Me. You did not delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices concerning sins."

"Then I said, 'Lo, I come, in the heading of the Book it was written concerning Me, to do Your will, O God, {Psa 39:7 -9; Psa 40:6 -8}. Above, saying, 'You did not desire nor were pleased with sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and sacrifices concerning sins  (which are offered according to the Law)', then He said, 'Lo, I come to do Your will, O God.' He takes away the first in order that He may set up the second; by which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all], God, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit].

"For they that are after the flesh mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For the mind of the flesh is death; but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace: because the mind of the flesh is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can it be: and they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

"But ye are not in the flesh but in the Spirit/spiritual, if so be that God's Spirit dwelleth in you. But if any man hath not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His. And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the spirit is life because of righteousness.

"But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwelleth in you, He, that raised up Christ Jesus from the dead, shall give life also to your mortal bodies through his Spirit that dwelleth in you. So then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye must die; but if by the Spirit ye put to death the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For ye received not a spirit of bondage again unto fear; but ye received a spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. That Spirit, itself, beareth witness with our spirit, that we are children of God: and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified with Him. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us-ward."

Now, this 'spirit' of which Paul wrote, is that 'holy spirit' one receives at 'rebirth' (one must be born again).

You must be born again and 'drink into that one spirit'

All are made to 'drink that spirit' as it is written, 1Co 12:1-, "My friends, you asked me about spiritual matters.  I want you to remember that before you became followers of the Lord, you were led in all the wrong ways by idols that cannot even talk. Now I want you to know that if you are led by God's Spirit, you will say that Jesus is Lord, and you will never curse Jesus.

"There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but they all come from the same Spirit… For also we all were baptized by one Spirit into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, even all were given to drink into one Spirit. For also the body is not one member, but many."

This is what Jesus promised, Joh 14:-22-, "Judas (not Iscariot) saith unto him, 'Lord, what is come to pass that Thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?' Jesus answered and said unto him, 'If a man love Me, he will keep My word: and my Father will love him, and We will come unto him, and make Our abode with him.'

"He that loveth Me not keepeth not My words: and the word which ye hear is not Mine, but the Father's who sent Me. These things have I spoken unto you, while yet abiding with you. But the Comforter, even the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said unto you.

"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful. Ye heard how I said to you, I go away, and I come unto you. If ye loved Me, ye would have rejoiced, because I go unto the Father: for the Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe.

"I will no more speak much with you, for the prince of the world cometh: and he hath nothing in Me; but that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave Me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence," and He and The Eleven left for Gethsemane; He had 'an appointment with 'the other Judas' there, Judas, the Iscariot, the one who betrayed Him.
